"The most fulfilling aspect of financial planning is being able to create peace of mind for others. People are always going to worry about their finances to a certain degree, but I strive to give them confidence to make smart decisions that will improve their overall financial position."

-Michael Helveston, CFP®, CRPC®, Founder and Financial Planner

Mike founded Whitford Financial Planning after working in the financial services industry for 25 years. He learned the importance of planning ahead and giving back by observing his parents manage their household finances. Mike wanted to become an advisor so he could help people make informed financial decisions and to make the most of what they have been given.

He started his career with Vanguard in a mutual fund accounting role but quickly realized he wanted to work directly with clients. While at Vanguard he completed the Certified Financial PlannerTM coursework and first became an advisor. Mike then transitioned to a large independent firm where he managed the team of advisors and led the firm's investment committee.

Mike has contributed articles to Forbes, Kiplinger, The Wall Street Journal, Investopedia, and Financial Planning. He lives in Downingtown, PA with his wife and three children. Mike has served the community as a volunteer mortgage counselor with Tabor and a classroom volunteer with Junior Achievement. When he is not helping clients, he enjoys running, playing sports and games with his family, working outside, and listening to music.
